PROFILE:-
DHIRENDRA SWARUP
 |
A
photograph is a secret about a secret. The more it tells
you the less you know. It takes a lot of imagination to
be a good photographer. You need less imagination to be
a painter because you can invent things. But in photography
everything is so ordinary; it takes a lot of looking before
you learn to see the extraordinary. In photography, the
smallest thing can be a great subject. The little, human
detail can become a leading idea. |
| Dhirendra
Swarup,
the famous Indian lens man, took to photography like a bird
to the skies. Born in a humble family in Kanpur (India),
Dhirendra went on to become a post graduate in sociology
and an expert in chemical industry. But as a profession
can never outshine passion, Dhirendra’s passion towards
photography continued. For a relentless 40 years, he kept
his dream alive by sneaking out and capturing the wild world.
When asked he said, ‘In my mind's eye, I visualize
how a particular sight and feeling will appear on print.
If it excites me, there is a good chance it will make a
good photograph. It is an intuitive sense, an ability that
comes from a lot of practice.’ |
| According
to him, God has created myriad secrets in the world. Landscapes,
animals or simply the beauty of the moments. It’s
a true passionate photographer who unveils these secrets
for others who are not so blessed to do so. In his journey
of 40 years, he has unveiled the secrets of National Parks,
Bird Sanctuaries, tourist spots, places of pilgrimage and
many more breathtaking places in India. We invite you to
take a look at the wonders this man has created through
his and the eye of his camera.
